Gamescom is one of the world's biggest gaming events with around 370,000 visitors and 1037 exhibitors from 56 countries who attended the fair in 2018 It was also the biggest gaming news expo of that year worldwide.
The fair, however, is not just a game exhibition for people to learn about and try out the games. It uses a diversified presentation of activities that caters to the overall gaming industry whether it be for players, the gaming media, business people, content and hardware developers or people like families and friends who would like to simply enjoy the day by visiting a trade fair to check-out the sights and sounds and what's new with games and gaming today. To this, the Fair has assigned several areas on the huge trade floor that one can visit. This 2019, the fair has included something especially new for the gaming public. Perp Games presented the first-ever VR Game Showcase at Gamescom. This particular exhibition was the result of a group of developers coming together and pooling their resources to achieve a common goal. Fast Travel Games along with five other VR development concerns have come together in a cooperative endeavor to exhibit their upcoming new VR games together at Gamescom, something which would be difficult to pull-off by going it alone.

The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets VR
As Fast Travel Games was most instrumental in getting The VR Games Showcase organized, let's start with their newest Title offering for VR. The game is about experiencing miniature worlds and solving puzzles. The objective is, of course, to look for and try to retrieve the stolen pets. When you were young, you and your grandfather built things together. Now that you have all grown up he needs your help to solve a problem. You will have to rotate and manipulate the objects you will find in the games in different environments to get to the bottom of things. An endearing fantasy world for the young and the young at heart.
Acron: Attack of the Squirrels! VR
Acron is an innovative VR party game from Resolution Games, the guys that came up with the fun-filled Angry Birds VR game. This time around it's the Squirrels and not the pigs that are going to pester you. You play the role of a magical Acorn tree who must defend its acorns from a rowdy bunch of Squirrels. While you wear the VR headset, the Squirrels played by your companions have to play via mobile devices. You can pick up the Squirrels who try to get past you and throw them away. You can pick up objects that you can throw at them as well. Overall, the fun effect would be similar to Angry Birds.
An Adventure in Wonderland VR
Cortopia Studios is currently at work on a really beautiful game which they initially called An Adventure in Wonderland. The title, however, was replaced with Down The Rabbit Hole. Though the game is another Alice in Wonderland themed adventure the presentation, overall graphics and soundtrack are cool. An amazing VR fantasy world that will no doubt immerse you once it becomes available.
Budget Cuts 2: Mission Insolvency VR
When Budget Cuts from Neat was first released as early access in 2016, it did attract a lot of attention. Running through an office building in VR where the other workers are starting to disappear and you are haunted by robotic supervisors at almost every corner was a great way to promote an action intensive yet humorous experience in VR. Being able to interact with the environment and utilize available objects made the game an interesting endeavor for many. The game was officially released a year ago and today, it's sequel Budget Cuts 2 promises to continue where the first game left off.
The Wizards: Dark Times VR
A new and upcoming release for The Wizards game series from Carbon Studios. The game is a Stand-Alone expansion for The Wizards games and will lead you into a fantasy realm spell-casting adventure in VR. If you're the kind of gamer who tends to lean towards the Dungeons and Dragons RPG type of games, this VR title might just be right for you. After all, if there's Might there's Magic.
The Walking Dead: Onslaught VR
If you happen to be a VR player who loves FPS gaming and have an innate desire to take down the Zombs with utmost prejudice, this game’s for you. Survios is making it one thrilling, blood pumping, adrenaline trip down the morbid horror path to adventure gaming.
